Mission & Vision
Mission
Our mission is to help homeless and low-income families in Hawai’i achieve sustainable independence by mobilizing existing community resources and support.
Our Vision
An Oʻahu where vulnerable families have equitable access to housing.
Theory of Change
When we utilize family-centered strategies and mobilize community support, we competently and effectively increase equitable access to housing for Hawaiʻi's vulnerable families.
Our Core Values
Dignity and Worth of All Persons
We treat all people in a caring and respectful fashion, mindful of individual differences, and cultural and ethnic diversity. We promote families' self-determination. We seek to enhance families' capacity and opportunity to change and address their own needs.
Hospitality
We welcome families with empathy and respect.
Housing Focused
Our programs are focused on identifying permanent housing resources so that families can move as quickly as possible to sustainable independence.
Low Barriers
We believe every family deserves a home and therefore accept families as they are.
Collaboration
Our community is strong. We collaborate with existing community resources (faith-based congregations, partner agencies, volunteers) to fulfill our mission of helping families achieve sustainable independence by cultivating meaningful social connections.
Trauma-Informed
We recognize that many families experiencing housing instability have also experienced trauma. Our services provide emotional and physical safety.
Anti-Racist
We are committed to advancing diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice. We work to continuously increase awareness of racial injustice and are dedicated to fighting against racism.
